What is so unique at 3Par?

In M&A market, this week’s focus was on 3Par and Potash Corp. bids. The 3Par acquisition turned to bidding contest, and once the ego gets into the deal we saw new offers for the California based company. How the 3Par fits into the picture for computer producers?  3Par sells hardware and software services that makes it easier and cheaper for companies to store information. Over the last year, HP and Dell are using acquisitions to challange the Cisco Systems Inc. and IBM in the market for data-center products and services which generate higher profits than desktop and laptop computers.  For example, HP bought 3Com corp. a networking company for $2.7 billion this year. However, the Oracle is also trying to sustain its leadership position within the industry. They have acquired the Sun Microsystems about $7 Billion and expanded their product portfolio matrix. The industry is still in consolidation, the takeover momentum will continue.
